Time and time again I see it.. Vocal teachers who didn't make it as singers use the same old dusty "by the book" methods to teach their students.
They're taking their students' amazing potential and turning them into clones of themselves - doomed to be like their teachers who never step foot on stage.
Most vocal teachers use the old way of teaching. They slice up their students’ voice into vocal registers, kinda like putting pieces of their voice into different "drawers".
For the average vocal student, this hurtful process takes about 6-12 months. Not to mention breathing & posture that you need to focus on, as if they don't complicate it enough as it is..
Most don't survive and quit.
Those who do? Need to "unlock" the drawers, pick up their broken into pieces voice and try to glue it all together just to get to the "starting point".
